i was diagnosed with ITP last January, and i finaly went to see a hematologist in the middle of august and sent for lots of different tests and it turns out my ITP isn't severe by any means but yet he won't tell me what my last counts were. and i still feel the same pains and extreme fatigue.its getting very frustrating already. i don't know what to do. don't get me wrong i'm very relieved that its not serious or anything, but i wish there was something that could make me feel like me again!!!! thanks

If the hematologist won't keep you informed on your count find another doctor. It's vital that you know where you're at so you don't go into the "twilight zone" (below 10,000) and end up bleeding out. |

| If you've got pains and fatigues, it won't be the ITP which is why the haematologist isn't interested. I'd think that your GP is the next stop. Won't they be able to tell you your blood results too? If not, then they'd no doubt start again with more blood tests. |

T, why won't your doctor tell you your count? You are entitled to know.
Have a great day.

The only difference between serious ITP and mild ITP is the count. The count can change at any time. It may not be serious now, but could be at any time if your count drops. You really should know where you stand, and you have the right to know.
Latest count 265,000(8-14-07). ************************* Sandi

I'm not sure about Canada, but in the USA you are legally entitled to a copy of all test reports.
audi (Lupus, ITP, AIHA, APS, etc.) Lupus info at www.lupus.org APS info at www.apls.tk The best cure for being misunderstood - proof reading. |

I'm pretty sure that's the same here, Audi. The only time I had trouble getting a copy was when one of the nurses' in the treatment room said I didn't need a printout 'cause I didn't understand the results anyway. Since I've started going to our other hospital for my tests, I don't always get a print out, but that's because they{the clinic} doesn't get one.
Have a great day.
