Wish By Spirit - An ITP Memoir by Joan Young.

After mysterious bruises appeared on her arms, a small cut on her tongue continued to bleed, and each day brought a struggle to maintain the life she knew, Joan went from disbelief through denial and finally learned she had ITP. A high dose of prednisone not only failed to help solve Joan’s bleeding problem, but was instrumental in causing a seizure and a heart condition. When a splenectomy and several other drugs suggested by her hematologist left her depressed, demoralized, with additional conditions to treat, and a platelet count that hovered near zero, she began her own search for a cure. Joan’s journey from diagnosis to remission lasted 18 months. The insights into her life, the healing practices she learned, and her spiritual shift changed her life forever. Reading this book may change yours.

Joan Young founded the Platelet Disorder Support Association in 1998.

You can purchase a signed copy from Joan at www.gemwrite.com. The book is also available on-line from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and the PDSA Platelet Store

Category Locked This forum is now read-only - new group is active
PDSA has completed the switch to the new discussion group. This forum is now read-only. The registration feature has been turned off. Since there is so much good information on the site, it will be available to read for a few years.

Please join us at the new location. Go to www.pdsa.org and click on 'Join the Community/Discussion groups/NEW group/' to find us.

If you have registered in the past on this site, you will need to register again on the new site, since these two groups are not linked.

Category Locked Transition to New Discussion Group
PDSA will be transitioning to a new discussion group. You can go to it directly at http://www.pdsa.org/join-the-community/discussion-groups/forums.html or click on the link from the "Join the Community" section of the top drop-down menu on www.pdsa.org

The discussion group transition is part of major changes to the PDSA web site. The entire Web site has been reconstructed to enable PDSA in incorporate many new features, including the creation of a PDSA Web sign-on that is the same as your discussion group sign-on.

The new discussion group and Web platform will provide a way to add new features such as the ability to locate Web site members, view their public profiles, post personal stories to your profile, upload photos and videos to your profile, write and submit content for publishing on the PDSA Web site, and shop the online store without a separate login.

Please take a look at the new discussion group, create a sign-on, and post a message. You will need to register again since there are no links between this discussion group and the new one. It would also be helpful to use the same sign-on as the current discussion group so others will recognize you.

In the next few weeks the input to this discussion group will be turned off, although it will be available for a year or so to allow people to continue to read it.

If you have any questions, you can contact me or Sandi and we'll be happy to assist.
